Bishop Otubelu Nursery and Primary School (BONPS) was established on the 20th September, 2009. It was dedicated by Rt. Revd. Prof. Evans J. Ibeagha to the memory of late Rt. Revd. Gideon Nweke Otubelu who was the founding Bishop of Enugu Diocese. The school was the brain child of Venerable Chukwuma Okafor who was the Vicar in-charge of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church (now St. Andrew’s Basilica) 2009-2012, with Mrs Gladys Nwosu as the pioneer head teacher. From 2012 to 2019 Venerable Harold U Onuselogu took over the management of the school as the Vicar in-charge.

Located at Hill-View Avenue, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, BONPS, is a Mission School established with the aim of providing academic and moral upbringing of the young minds. The school has Pre-nursery, Nursery and Primary levels to exceptionally prepare the pupils for secondary education.The school is an integral part of Nike Diocesan Group of Schools and was established in line with the guidelines of Enugu State Ministry of Education.

BONPS has grown from strength to strength with a population of 43 pupils at inception to a whooping population of 500 pupils and still counting. The school is duly registered with Enugu State Ministry of Education as a Government approved school. BONPS is currently running the Nigerian Curriculum system from Nursery to Primary; taking care of children ranging from ages 2 to 12 years. The school is open to children from all regions and religion.

The school started in 2009 at the basement of the Basilica but has expanded to a large expanse of land with two gigantic buildings containing 33 classrooms with inbuilt toilets, 1 bookshop, an ICT room, multi-purpose hall, packing lot, a football field and 2 different play grounds for Nursery and Primary pupils.
